i was comparing the colors from mushclient to zmud, and i noticed in Zmud the color is much richer and fuller, things stand out nicely. how can i achieve that kind of richness in my colors on mushclient

actually i noticed that the standard color from text is green in zmud, and white in mushclient, maybe that is having some affect on my perception

MUSHclient's default colours are the "standard" ANSI colours, eg. red is RGB code 255,0,0 (red = 255, green = 0, blue = 0) even though personally I think it is a bit muddy.

Because I thought people might want to lighten or darken all their colours I provided extra buttons to do this, namely:

* Lighter
* Darker
* More colour
* Less colour

You can use these to adjust the overall "feel" of the colours, or just change individual ones for a finer touch.

In fact, if you have made an improved set of colours, please save the colours (click on the "save" button in the colour configuration window), email them to me, and I'll post them on the web site as an alternative set of colours.

The same goes for anyone that wants to do an alternative set of colours (eg. black text on white background, with other colours adjusted accordingly).

to me, the regular white looked like a grey. so i changed that to more of a white but less than the bright white.
i thought the red was too muddy, the yellow was basically a brown, and i lightened up the green a bit. the only prob i have is there isnt much diff between yellow and bright yellow, but yellow is kind of a bright color anyway...i tweak with the colors a lot now so if i get something i really like i will e-mail that set to you.

i have another question about colors though, on the mud i place there is a "map" so to speak, maybe you have had experience with that, just ansi characters put together to look like a map, anyway, on the map another player shows as "P" and a mob shows as "M". when i use zmud, the M and P are blinking, but in mushclient it doesn't seem to register the blinking ansi? can i enable that somehow?

also, just out of curiosity, i am wondering Nick which font, font size, and resolution do you use?

I haven't implemented blink yet, although it is on my list of suggested enhancements. Personally I find blink very annoying, but if some people like it, I can always make it an option.

I have my screen set to 1024 X 768 pixels, 32768 colours.

I often use FixedSys 9 pt, however I also like Lucida Console 8 pt.

I have been sent a set of "black on white" colours by "Rashan", you can load these into MUSHclient by going to the ANSI colour screen and clicking the "load" button.

ftp://ftp.gammon.com.au/mushclient/black_on_white.mcc   2.6 Kb

I have darkened some of Rashan's colours a bit to make them work better on a white background.

You would also need to change your input colour (for when input is echoed in the output window) to make it fit in better.
