An interesting article here by Cameron Revard about both Aardwolf and MUSHclient: Let’s get old school for a moment: Aardwolf MUD

Rather interestingly, both Aardwolf and MUSHclient started development in around 1996 - Lasher wanted to do an improved MUD server, and I wanted to do an improved MUD client.
