Hi, I just want to report a bug I encountered, I've since discovered a workaround, but I thought reporting both the bug and the workaround I used would help you possibly solve it

I'm using Windows 10 and MUSHclient 4.94, with no plugins

After moving to windows 10, after a few months, MUSHclient would begin crashing on startup instant, initially I used a workaround where i would reinstall everytime I wanted to use Mushclient, but that got a little annoying as you could imagine

Today I tried installing to a different directory (just called it MUSHclient2), and viola, I can now boot from it just fine no crashes

Interesting, when I deleted the original install and renamed the directory back to Mushclient, the problems returned, so there seems to be a problem that can cause crash on startup based around the directory being named MUSHclient.

Thats all I have.

Try using the latest release (5.05 at present):

I don't know why the name of the directory would matter, unless it is something to do with your firewall blocking the app running from a specific directory.

Based on the problem description, I'd be worried that you have some serious system corruption that is possibly affecting other things as well. MUSHclient doesn't crash like this for anyone else I know.

We have found a memory corruption issue that may be responsible. In particular, it is likely to happen when certain messages are being displayed, such as happen at startup.

Please try the latest pre-release version of MUSHclient. See the link below for how to obtain it.
