Lately I am finding that I often need to have more than 10 windows open, and I really find it awkward not to have them easily available on the activity toolbar. I am very much a 'point and click' person, and I pretty much never use keyboard shortcuts.
Linda, new feature in 3.46 - you can left-click on the world name in the status bar, and a menu of all open worlds will pop up, in alphabetic order. You can then select the one you want. |

| | Just tried this out, and right now it is behaving a little oddly, as it ends up shrinking my MUSHclient window some, perhaps ... 10% or so. Or maybe not even that much. | | Top |

| Ah yes, I was afraid that might happen.
Do you normally have the window maximized? I think clicking on the menu is restoring the window from maximized.

| The un-maximizing will be fixed in 3.47. Meanwhile make it as large as you can without actually maximizing it.
Apart from that, are you happy with the result? |

| | HM, maybe you could have an option for people who use more than 10 windows, that they could type Ctrl+11 (Ctrl+1, Ctrl+1) and it would switch to world 10. That would of course mean that the Control+something combination would be activated when you let go of the control key, and you would have to be able to detect when control is up or down, but is it possible? |

| Yes, I do tend to have it maximized.
Its a pretty nice addition, although if it is intended to be instead of a change from 10 buttons to unlimited tabs, it still has the problem of activity not being immediately visible. As in, you have to click and check to look for activity.
But it is a bit quicker to access than the Window list. :) | | Top |

| | The activity thing is easily fixed, just append an asterisk to the name if there is new activity... |

| | Yes, but since the list isn't always visible, you still have to right-click on the name to check which world had activity. What I've really been looking for is something that as far as activity is concerned is as visible as the world toolbar is now, but which isn't limited to 10 worlds. :) | | Top |

| | Then may I suggest a plugin? Something in VB would be easy enough to make and you could change it to whatever you want... I haven't thought much about it though, so it might not be what you are looking for... |

| | I don't know anything about scripting, so I don't know if it can or can't be done. But I can't really see how a plugin could be used to create what essentially is an alternate world toolbar. :) | | Top |

| The world list menu was intended to be an interim solution - at least you can click and quickly change worlds, and also look for new activity.
Linda, when you spoke of tabbed windows were you thinking of one tab per *world* or one tab per *channel* (eg. chats, building etc.) but having different windows per world? |

| That's what I figured, given the discussion about spawned windows and tabs. And as an interim solution, I do think it works well enough. :)
Whether it should be one tab per world or one per window related to a world would depend on the solution, I think. I rather liked the mock-up someone did with the tabs for each world being the main ones, and the tabs for spawned windows from that world (as well as notepads from that world, I guess) being a drop-down menu off the main world tab. :) | | Top |

| | You can easily show which worlds have new activity by writing a small plugin using the info bar, as Poromenos suggested. |

| | Well, no, I couldn't personally anyway. I don't know anything about any of the scripting languages. :) However, I don't think such a pluging be clickable like the world toolbar, or? | | Top |
