after buying a pet and using it a few times
i come back after quitting and it's stopped following me
i order pet to follow me but it still doesn't

any ideas?

When you quit your pfile is wiped of pet info so your former pet is now just a stray animal. If you want to keep a pet after you quit you'll have to chance some code and it might have some..... unexpected side effects.
