Hello out there. Is there anyone who knows of a version of space.are that actually works with the executable that comes in the StarWars_W32Binary.zip file (for Windows, of course). Unfortunately, the one in the SWR1FUSS archive causes errors that terminate the program.

[*****] FILE: space.are LINE: 8917
[*****] BUG: Get_obj_index: bad vnum 38.
[*****] BOOT: Load_resets: space.are (1) 'O': object 38 doesn't exist.
[*****] FILE: space.are LINE: 8918
[*****] BUG: Fread_number: bad format. (M)

>>>>TERMINATED!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!<<<<

So I am just overly confused, and I was wondering if anyone had resolved that problem. Thanks.

Looks like you've run into a very classic problem with borrowed areas.... The file you are trying to use has objects and obj_types that simply do not exist in your world at present. The simple solution is to edit the area, either with the area editor here or in a text editor, find the line numbers (or obj resets) referenced and destroy them.

The area editor here does a nice cross-reference of things that are missing in areas. You can open an area.lst file (which loads *all* areas) and then do an area-check. That will find things that are referred to in one area that do not exist anywhere.

Go to line 8917 and delete what it says in reference to vnum 38. It could quite possibly be the removal of entire line. As for line 8918, I'm not sure whats wrong with it unless you paste it here.

This isn't the best solution, but it will allow you to use that area.
