I've been watching the discussion on Lua lately, but since I no longer play MUDs much anymore, only admin for them, I have yet to try Lua out. But I was wondering, since I heard there are ways to communicate to other programs with MC... Would it be possible to have Trillian and MUSHclient communicate? Like for example, if I put up an away message on Trillian, it'll send "title is AFK" on MC. Trillian is at http://www.trillian.cc if you need to learn about it.

[EDIT] Errr, the other way around. MC to communicate with Trillian. Right?

You should be able to do that, with or without Lua, by using UDP packets, if Trillian supports that.

I've talked with those at Trillian, and it seems that there is no built-in function that would handle UDP, but a (Trillian) plugin would do the job. Would anyone else be interested in this? Requesting a plugin by myself would most likely not be approved.
