ROM really pisses me off.

first, no one can tell me anything about clans, and apparently you can't PVP unless you're in a clan.

I was building a graphical client which means switching to SMAUG would take restructuring everything, but i keep finding very stupid things about ROM that makes it useless to me.

i wont even try to compile it because it looks like more hassle than anything else.

also, is there a site that has any real info on ROM? no one ever posts here.

Raven,

If you don't know anything about playing a ROM mud, reading the code is not going to help you much. I suggest going to a ROM mud and playing it for awhile. You will get a feel for how PK (PvP is not a term used in ROM) and clans work.

I have played many ROMs where PK is not clan based. It should not be a difficult change. You would get much better responses from the ROM coders who frequent these forums if you asked specific code questions.

There are tons of ROM muds, just search for them on mudconnector.com.

Dub

Compiling ROM isn't too hard, under Cygwin you basically untar all the files, change to the source directory, and type "make".

If that is a problem, I think making a graphical client will be problem too.
