Before posting a new message, please read the FAQ, and try searching the forum for keywords relating to your problem. A lot of issues have already been discussed. For instance if you have problems getting variables to work try searching for 'set variable'. Also take a look at the Online documentation / help.

If you are having problems getting a trigger to work, please help us to help you more quickly by providing the following information:

• A literal copy of the trigger (there is a Copy button) - see http://www.mushclient.com/copying for exact details.

• An exact copy (copy and paste from the output window) of the text from the game that you are trying to match on. This will help us to evaluate if the trigger "match" text needs changing. To preserve the spacing in the original text put the MUD output inside the [code] ... [/code] forum tags. See What are forum codes? for more details.

• Specify which scripting language you are using, if scripting is involved (the default is Lua).

• An exact copy of the error message (if there is one) - copy and paste.

• Specify in what way it doesn't work. Just saying "it doesn't work" isn't helpful. Is there an error (if so, what is the error)? Does the trigger fire or not? Did it do the wrong thing? Or nothing at all?

• Specify which version of MUSHclient you are using (not just "the latest version"). This information is available from the Help menu -> About MUSHclient.
