I am trying to make something specific but it is going to be a huge task. I wanted to learn the language so I can everything correct and prevent ending up with 1 small problem, and having no clue on how to fix it.
Thank you again for the information, I'm going to check it all out right now.
EDIT: It seems like the link you gave me sent me to a test post where Nick was trying to figure out the internal time. If you have the one you meant to give me, that would be appriciated. I'll be looking for it myself and I'll let you know if I can find it.
contains many references for anyone interested in learning Lua.
In particular
http://www.lua.org/
or
http://lua-users.org/wiki/
seem very 'newbie friendly'.
If you want to learn more about syntax (all those different symbols) you can read through many of the sections on the main MUSHclient forum page, in particular regular expressions.
Trying to learn Lua all at once sounds pretty daunting and I can imagine it being difficult to understand at first. You could start with specific functions such as writing triggers, plugins or scripting (also on the MUSHclient forum page) and once comfortable with those type of things move on to more in depth coding in Lua.
If you're trying to write something specific in Lua and are having difficulty feel free to ask more detailed questions. There are many people here willing to help.

Hi, I am very new to it all and I've been spending the past 3 or 4 days going through the help files and these forums, but it's all so confusing and about 80% of it makes no sense to me. Could you please direct me to a LUA guide for complete beguiners? If it doesn't exist, at least a list of what all the different symbols and such mean so I at least have a reference in my studies? Thank you for everything! (I've looked everywhere, I might have just overloked something somewhere.)
