The aliases are in fact in XML format. The file name is .mca (MUSH Client Alias) for historical reasons.
Just call the file name aliases.xml or similar and then you will find it is normal XML.
The world files (the .MCL files) are also in XML (ditto for triggers etc.)

Is there a way to save all of my aliases (I have a very extensive list) as an XML document for cross compatibility with other programs on my linux partition?
The only format I could see to save aliases in is the mca format.
