Does cygwin need dos to operate? I woul like to toy with it at home but i have xp pro plus with NTFS format meaning i have no dos :) I would really like a solid answer on the issue before i even try it,

Cygwin runs just fine on my setup, which is also XPPro on NTFS. :) It looks a little DOS-ish, but it isn't really.
