| Describe the process you're going through to edit/add things.
It would also be helpful if we knew the download you're using and the platform you're running your server on (Win2k, Cygwin, Linux, ect.)
A common beginner mistake is to edit an existing non-prototype area and type 'savearea'. Sounds logical enough, but to save areas that have already been "loaded" (non-prototype), you use 'foldarea'. Check out the helpfiles on both. | | Top |

A useful idea would be to make a directory, eg. c:\smaug, and put the files into there. |
