| Hi again. It seems that killing all the mobs and letting them reset... or completely redoing the reset list still brings up a duplicate copy of the mobs.
40) Wayland (2500) -> Wayland's Forge (2524) [1]
41) leather smith's apron (2620) -> Wayland (about) [1] (shop)
42) splinted iron greaves (2549) -> Wayland (legs) [1] (shop)
43) Steel plated war boots (2510) -> Wayland (feet) [1] (shop)
is one of the mobs but it is doing the same with all of them, creating double the number that i set the limit to.
I am using the command to add him as:
reset add mob 2500 2524 1
and in the reset list there is only one copy of him.
Can anyone spot something i am doing wrong here or offer hints please? The resets were put in this time into a completely empty area because i thought that having a copy of the mob in the room first time i did it might have been what caused it to happen.
Thanks alot for any help at all | Top |

| It is my experience, that the stock code for resets is flawed in multiple ways. What I reccommend is adding the 'serial-based reset snippet' that you can find on multiple smaug snippet sites. This should fix most of the problems with the stock reset code.
You can find the snippet here: http://rafermand.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=MostPopular | Top |

| Thanks alot for that, and it does look much more the kind of snippet i could possibly use, having exact instructions, with the level of computer knowledge i have (that of a biologist). Am just going to try one last thing.. it seemed to only happen when i loaded my own area up and all of those rooms were "cleaned" so have created a second immortal character and had that one set the resets.. will see if that works as even with all the help doing anything with the main code is a little bit daunting. | Top |

| Another basic question.. sorry about this. Is it necessary for the code to work for it to be put through a compiler with changes? I downloaded and installed cygwin and tbh it is somewhat scary. Am only doing this for myself and one...maybe two to three extra people at the most so is it possible to just alter/add in a snippet using notepad then saving it in the same way character level to become immortal is changed or for it to work does it need to be "make clean" and compiled? | Top |

| Any changes you make to the code will need to be recompiled. |
