| I am trying to connect to AmberMUSH, and receiving the error,
Unable to resolve host name for host "amber.godlike.com", code=11004 (Valid name, no date record of requested type)
Quote: A test connection to another MUSH at godlike.com (Patternfall mush) was successful.
The online WHO fo AmberMUSH shows people are playing now.
Any clues as to what might be causing this problem at my end, or is it likely to be something else entirely?

| My tests with this are rather inconclusive. For a start, if I try to look up the name amber.godlike.com I get this:
*** can't find amber.godlike.com: Non-existent host/domain
Then the MudConnector web page says:
AmberMUSH
Last Updated: August 21, 1997
Code Base: TinyMUSH 2.2.1
Site: amber.godlike.com 5150 [206.205.199.130]
In other words, it thinks the IP address is 206.205.199.130.
However if I click "Check Connection" I see this:
Connected to '204.209.44.14 5150' successfully
This is a different address. Finally if I try to connect to 204.209.44.14 5150 manually I get "connection refused".
I'm not sure what to make of all this, however it doesn't seem to be a MUSHclient problem. |
