| Thanks for the reply nick.
I'll be more specific:
I make areas for experimentation and to learn more about MOB behavior (progs). When I fire up the SMAUG server then log in as an immortal (Lordrom, etc...) I observe MOBs that start fighting and I've noticed the error messeges involve skill/spells that are not used (sn -1) and when certain MOBs die, their death screams have no prog assigned to them.
I'm thinking that some of the skills/spells in the AreaEditor that can be given to MOBs aren't implemented yet?
Just thinking out loud.

| Part of the problem with mprogs is that as a rule, they're ineffective against immortals unless they do something very basic. Anything involving char transfer, fatal damage, special attacks (not casting spells), or most of the other 'advanced' mprog functions has a coded check to bail if the target is immortal. Try logging in with a test character and see if you get the same error messages thru the fights. As for the unused spells and skills, it's usually a pretty smiple matter to chase them down and either remove the calls or create the effect the way you want it. A lot of them will be stuff that people added to support customized stuff they added for their mud and only function calls found their way into the standard code package. |

| The skills in the Area Editor should come from the skills.dat file that you assign to it in the File -> Preferences. Thus, it should not use skills that don't exist. However it is possible for the mprogs to use skills that are not in the skills.dat file. Doing an Area Check should sort out possible conflicts there. |
