| I can't seem to start Area Editor with Wine in Linux. Maybe I'm not using it correctly, but I'm in a shell in the Area Editor directory, and I type
winelauncher AreaEditor.exe
And I get the invoking AreaEditor.exe thing, and then it gives me
/usr/bin/winelauncher: line 418: 26604 Segmentation Fault
Wine failed with return code 139
Any idea's??? | Top |

| Which version of Wine and Area Editor are you using?
I think Area Editor v 1.33 fixed a problem in Wine. I don't know about WineLauncher, but I just typed:
wine AreaEditor.exe
and it worked.

| umm that wasn't me who replied up there
anyway, I'm using the most recent version of wine, and Area Editor 1.33
If I just type
wine AreaEditor.exe
it says Segmentation fault
(I'm using Red Hat 8.0 with the newest Red Hat Wine installation if that helps any)
EDIT: alright, well I fixed the segmentation fault, it had to do with my tiny swap file... but now it gives me something even stranger when I type "wine AreaEditor.exe"
err:module:load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"x11drv.dll": libXv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Could not load graphics driver 'x11drv'
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"F:\\VORTEX\\AREA~OKQ\\AreaEditor.exe" failed, status c0000142
does this make any sense? :P | Top |

| Ah, no. Needless to say I don't get that message as Area Editor works for me under Wine. Hard to say how to get rid of it, however I would search Google for words line "wine" and the file that is missing.
Sorry about the mixup with the reply. :) |
