I am sorry if I am doing something ignorant, but I am having trouble with autologging. I have autologging set, but it only logged my first session, and does not log any more. What I want is to have one file, where it appends every session I have to that text file. I have autologging set to abrealms.txt, and when I click on file it says log session, and it is checked. It does not log at all, however. I can give more information if needed, but if at all possible, could anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Do you define a session as opening the world and closing it, or connecting and disconnecting?

MUclient does what you want, I don't understand why it won't work for you... Are you sure you set all the parameters correctly in the world preferences in the logging tab?

Well, when I said session I mean each time I connect and disconnect, but i would like it to append to the file all of the text that comes in, no matter what session, i just want one long log. Under logging I have Log Output checked, It says automatcially log to this file, C:\Program Files\MUSHclient\logs\abrealms.txt

Other than that there are no other boxes that I have checked under logging except for write world name to file.
I do have a preamble: %A %B %d %H:%I:%M

Thank you guys for replying. I'll keep trying to get it to work.

There is no "append" option for the auto-logging, I suppose I thought that if you auto-appended the file would eventually get huge.

I will make a note to add that, however I suggest you use the date/time special characters to get it to create a new log file each time (for now anyway).

Uh, I don't understand. I use a log file for every session, and MUclient appends to that file, which becomes quite huge over time, some GB long, containing many sessions. Or am I talking about something else?

You know... my HTML auto-logging is automatically appending to the end of the log file every time. Perhaps it works for HTML but not for plaintext? I doubt it... in any case, mine auto-appends just fine.

Maybe you have to set auto-logging in the world settings, not in global settings.

Maybe set "append to log files" in the *global* logging preferences?

I have that turned off, but it still is appending in the world log file. Odd...

Ah yes, that was the option that made MC append for me. Have you set that, Loverofmushclient?

According to the source code, auto-log will always append.
