I'm trying to do tradeskills....craft skills whatever you want to call them and I'd like to make the items that can be crafted and the resources and tools needed to do so, softcoded (stored in a data base simuliar to skills I think) this way I can modify them on the fly and not have to worry about coding each specific aspect of the required resources, tool, crafted item.

You could set up a field with type of xbit and have flags set on them that correspond to item types, maybe even have 2 field, one for the ones that are used up (resources) and ones that are note used up (tools)
