| i'm having trouble with logging on to muds. whenever i try, it says something about sockets unplugged and unable to connect and stuff. any ideas/suggestions would really be appretiated | top |

it's with every client i use.
unable to connect to "dartmud", code 10057 (socket is not connected) error occured during phase conecting to world
and then it has the world code thingy

The most likely reasons are:
- You have got the wrong MUD address or port - is this a MUD you have successfully connected to before?
- The MUD is down.
- There is a firewall between you and the MUD. This is quite likely if you are at a school, college, or workplace. Firewalls may be configured to stop outgoing connections as well as incoming ones.

well now that the firewall is down, i'm getting a new error that reads;
"unable to connect to dartmud, code = 10060(connection timed out) error occured during phase: connection to world"
