Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Smaug FUSS would read old areas and convert them for you.

I do, but you wouldn't want it now that it's been converted to my mud's file format.. you might register at the Area Archives and look for it there (http://asj.mudmagic.com/areas/viewtopic.php?t=97) though. ;)

2 ways come to mind, hand edit that area file and make the number that its bugging out on lower, or you could edit the code to have a higher max for languages, either way will work.

sure, take a look at your errors, the first one is here,

Sun Dec 9 14:55:21 2007 :: BUG: load_mobiles: Speaks exceeds language maximum
Sun Dec 9 14:55:21 2007 :: FILE: midgaard.are LINE: 531
Sun Dec 9 14:55:21 2007 :: BUG: load_mobiles: Speaking exceeds language maximum
Sun Dec 9 14:55:21 2007 :: FILE: midgaard.are LINE: 531

Now that is actually 2 errors but as they are both on the same line we can treat them as one.

Now open up midgaard.are up in a text editor and goto LINE 531, it will be a line of number something like this 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

Now your mobile format might be slighly different to mine, so you may want to check your load_mobiles function in db.c, but if its the same, the 5th number is speaks, and the 6th number is speaking, the numbers are bit vectors, so just change them to 0 and 0.

If you want them to speak something other than common, you can change it later using OLC.

Just a guy having a bit of fun. Nothing more, nothing less, I do not need I WIN to feel validated.

ok, yep it's 5 and 6 thanks
this version of midgaard had ducks speaking in those places, and since I don't have a language for ducks, the error. hmm, maybe I should make one? how hard is quack, quack, quack? lol

now, I have to find where 6 exits going to nothing go.
somewhere like 68000 or something I don't have.
