Hey !

Im looking for someone who will help me to activate and use mapper on Arkadia LP Mud *(arkadia.rpg.pl port 23). Keeypads are almoust same but i cant even start mapper plugin. It seems to be brokren or something. All directions shortcuts are same *(n;s;e;w;nw;ne;ns;sw;se and u;d - doors are drzwi and exit are wyjscie) but names of directions are diferent *(example North west is Polnocny zachod but coresponding same ne keeypad and comand). If anyone can help me to start it i will give all diferent names for directions ,dors and NO go directions. Please let me know if anyone can reedit ATNC maper or make works for other mud? Thx verry much and cya arround!

Ps. I need some help with make my NEW trigers to be saved. It seems that any new triger it is not saved *(even when i save and load from triger.save file!? and even i save world details etc)

The mapper works, but it needs information from the MUD about what room you are in, and what exits there are. Some MUDs make this easy, some don't.

I don't have the time to repeat the process for every possible MUD, sorry. If you have some scripting knowledge you can probably adapt the ideas from those posts. If not, perhaps you can work with someone who can help? Once it is done, everyone on the MUD will benefit.

Maybe ask in-game if someone has done it, or is willing to help?

Triggers are usually saved, unless you mark them "temporary". They are saved as part of the world file.

That mean that if i chose temporary they wont be saved normaly ? Probably this is the problem i have. Thx for this one. If its is posible to make it maper works i WOULD BE SO GLADFULL! Im happy to use this MUD client even when most of Polish ppl use zMUDs etc. I realy prefer this one coz i have choice and i can modify some small things for myself !It is light and flexible.

Look comand is repleaced with - sp (spojrz)
Dors are - drzwi
Exit are - wyjscie

All other compas directions are; polnocny-wschod (ne), poludniowy-wschod (se), wschod(e), poludnie(s), polnocny-zachod(nw), polnoc(n), poludniowy-zachod(sw) i zachod(w).

Keypad for those directions works as for english short direction comands and mud accept it normaly.
Up are gora (u-up) and dol is (d-down) - keypad accept english short keypad versions as well.

No go cumunicates are :
Nie widzisz zadnego wyjscia prowadzacego na polnoc. *(n)
Nie widzisz zadnego wyjscia prowadzacego na zachod. *(w)
Nie widzisz zadnego wyjscia prowadzacego na dol. *(d)

Nie mozesz isc dalej w tym kierunku. *(You cant see way to go further in this direction)
...and if you tired - Jestes tak zmeczony, ze nie mozesz dalej podazac w tym kierunku.

Closed gates stuck - Probujesz otworzyc debowe wrota, ale nie udaje ci sie to.
Open gate comand - uderz w brame / uderz we wrota
Open gates comunicate after opening - Uderzasz mocno piescia we wrota.

*- Mud react on full names in polish or all directions in english shortcuts of directions. - If that will help

Im adding one big location with most exits and line before all exits. I dont expect mapper works on locations as *(stairs- schody) - wespnij sie na gore *( climb up) etc. Maybe is a way to add them manualy ? If not it is no problem...It is important to have general and juts hint maper options.

Example of 8 direction location:
Znajdujesz sie posrodku wielkiego placu, bedacego najprawdopodobniej pozostaloscia po starozytnej metropolii. Na samym srodku pustej przestrzeni z kamiennych plyt wyrasta marmurowa cembrowina imponujaco duzej fontanny, posrodku ktorej osadzony jest posag jakiegos starozytnego dawno zapomnianego bostwa, ktore z pewnoscia nie bylo najlepszym z bogow. Mimo wielu wiekow burz i wiatrow statua jest w swietnym stanie. Spod duzych krzaczastych brwi spogladaja na ciebie zimne kamienne oczy, a demoniczne rysy twarzy zdaja sie wyrazac pogarde dla smiertelnikow. Tors i konczyny posagu to dziwaczna krzyzowka krasnoluda z goblinem... A moze jeszcze czyms. Niepomne tej groznej postaci miejscowe dzieciaki wesolo biegaja wokol fontanny. I will add two files from Mushclient from someone who tried make mapper works on this MUD - Arkadia but unfortunetly it is not working even when some parts of it works... This will help you to recognise errors in there. THX

It is a creator or login for you to game... I can arrange new character on email witch i gona create for that purpouse if you want? then i give some comands and like i showd on last replays you will recognize directions and comands..

No thanks. I don't want to seem unhelpful, but writing a mapper for a MUD in which I don't understand the language would be very frustrating.

Besides, as I said, I can't sit here adapting the mapper for each of the 1000 MUDs that are out there.

There are a couple of protocols (ATCP, GMCP) which greatly simplify writing mappers. If you could convince the MUD admins to output that protocol (eg. ATCP) you could drop in the existing ATCP mapper.

Failing that, some option in the MUD which outputs the room number in an optional line that a trigger could pick up. eg.


#!map#! Room=1234;east=1235;west=1236;up=1237;


Then adapting the mapper would be pretty trivial.

I know that writing mapper for a MUD is little complicated but without mapper, it can't be activated. So writing mapper is must.

Hmm, I looked at that, Nick, but it seemed to be very limited information - certainly not enough info to implement the protocol on one's MUD. Am I missing something?

Effectively ATCP and GMCP are the same thing, or much the same thing. Basically ATCP was the "Achaea Telnet Client Protocol" which was renamed the "General (or Generic) MUD Control Protocol" to stop having it associated with a particular MUD.
