Is there a way of distinguishing whether output really came from the world or whether it was the result of the simulate function/test trigger dialog?

Probably with OnPluginLineReceived or OnPluginPacketReceived.

Thanks for the suggestions, OnPluginPacketReceived isn't fullproof but it works pretty well.

I think this is wrong. OnPluginPacketReceived is still picking up Simulated text for me. :\
