I've run into an issue, much like (http://www.gammon.com.au/forum/?id=11514).

This is with the current SmaugFUSS where it will display the greeting, and prompt to enter your name or new. No matter what you enter, it pops up

Quote:

Please check your spelling, or type new to start a new player.

Name:

At that point you can enter new or your name, and it will proceed as normal. I have not been able to track down where the bug is, either in comm.c or the nanny handler. If you can help me out, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's run into this and its a simple fix - but digging around online and on Samson's forums I couldn't find anything.

If the problem is the same, have you tried the fix from that thread?

From where?

What debugging have you done?

It is probably taking the telnet subnegotiation as part of the name, and rejecting it. The server should not do that, and the latest version doesn't. You need to give a link to the "latest" version, not just assert that you have the latest.

This is the current version I am referring to. (https://smaugmuds.afkmods.com/files/smaugfuss-194-501/)

What I did find is that when I compiled it on another linux box hosted remotely (vs raspberry pi local), I did not run into this issue at all, and it functioned correctly.

Smaugfuss is not compatible with ARM processors. The github repo doesn't allow filing issues, and registering for the afkmods forum is broken for me, so I have no way to report this. If you have an afkmods forum account, see if you can get arthmoor to enable filing issues on the repository and also fix signup.

It looks like the github repo now allows filing issues.
