Ok, I decided I like Rom better than smaug, it has features that i like (like the note system) Now I tried to make in the rom downloadable here and the Ghostmud codebase. Cygwin says there is no 'compile' command, and I have never had a successful make, on any version of smaug, rom, or ghostmud. I can't figure out why it won't compile or make. Somebody please help me?

you most likly don't have the make file loaded in cygwin. reinstall cygwin
when you get to the part where you chose the what files to download open devel ( I think thats the folder name) and make sure to click the make file on. All the files in the devel folder can be usefull so if you are willing to down load the entire folder i would do so. course the download time can be a long time is you chose all of them. (mine took about 15 hours, course i downloaded a lot of files.)

that should set ya right, have fun
