Is 28 lines too long of a greeting for a MUD? does anyone know how many lines long the telnet window is?

24 lines was standard in the old days, however it would depend really on how big the player had resized their window, and what font they were using.

Personally I would put stuff I really wanted people to read near the bottom in case the top scrolled off.
