I'm running Windows XP on a Sony Vaio Laptop. I've been using mushclient on Win95 for years without trouble, but now muschlient fails to even run (I get the hourglass but then it disappears - no process is spawned from what I can tell with task manager). If I re-install it works, but
then after perhaps 3-4 shutdowns/restarts the problem returns.
Help!

A faithful lover of MUSHclient.

This doesn't sound like a MUClient problem... Do you get it with other programs?

I can suggest a couple of things:

1. A registry problem. If you remove MUSHclient (don't just reinstall) that will clear the registry entries. Then reinstall.

2. Some other issue with TCP/IP - have you changed anything like Windows Sockets?

Version 3.43 onwards have more debugging messages in the startup process. If it cannot find needed resources it will display a message. If you tell us what that is, it should help solve the problem.

I *just* had that problem on a friend's computer with 3.42. I will tell him to upgrade and see what's going on if it still doesn't start...
