| Below are some of the enhancements appearing in forthcoming versions of MUSHclient (shortly). These are being announced to help plugin writers plan ahead a bit.
- I am proposing to rebadge the next "stable" version as MUSHclient version 5. This will make it easier to explain to players that new plugins that use things like miniwindows, sound effects, and some of the other more recent features "requires version 5" - which is easy to remember, rather than "requires version 4.36+".
- Miniwindows will be able to read and write PNG files (as well as BMP files). This makes it easier to distribute graphics with plugins as they can be compressed.
- Miniwindows can draw individual pixels - this will be helpful for certain applications where it is necessary to draw various effects that do not fall into the category of lines, rectangles or curves.
- The various blending and filtering options will be available to individual pixels (in addition to rectangles).
- There will be an option to blend images into a miniwindow subject to an alpha mask - this lets you plonk (is that a word?) an image into a window with fuzzy edges (as specified in the mask) rather than having to have hard edges.
For more details, see the release notes for version 4.36:

| Good idea about the versioning. And "plonk" counts as a word in my book. :P |
