Yeah. This was a long time coming. I think googlecode was great (it still does some things better than github). But they obviously haven't cared about maintaining it in several years. I just wish they weren't planning to shutter it entirely. It should be made read-only and preserved forever because of http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&q=code.google.com

Unfortunately there will be a lot of links from blogs that will now be dead.

Seems an odd thing for an organization as big as Google to do - to sabotage a lot of web pages.
