| Hi all, I realize I have pretty much dropped off the map for the last several years. I just got back into playing on Aardwolf, and everything has changed, it is absolutely insane, and the epitome of what we always dreamed the mapper could be.
I however have a few questions having to do with both the mapper and the GMCP protocol, I am trying to make something that will set general variables in the world, that aliases or triggers can pull from. For example I would like to store the name of my area in a variable, so that I can compare it within an alias so that I can have it either 'runto recall' or enter my portal. Basically if I am anywhere in the town it can save a step to simply run to recall to start a speedwalk.
Also the statmon shows the name of the enemy I am currently fighting, I would love to be able to use that in a variable as well...
Perhaps those that pioneered the GMCP plugins can point me in the direction of extracting this information, because once I have it I won't have any issues saving it, or altering it in any way I may need. But having looked over the mapper plugin, I could not make heads nor tails of where it is pulling the name of the area from, and the stats I MIGHT be able to locate it, but don't wish to mess with something so low level and possibly send something erroneous to the game and break things.
Thanks,

| Thank you Nick, I was sure you all would have thought of it. Certainly faster than my finding using apparently incorrect search terms :) | Top |
