I've just realized the answer to all my problems i am having with,

* Corpses saving but not reloading
* One save, no updates for pfiles
* The 574 warning(s) i get from compiling tables.c

Download the src from www.gammon.com.au...yes here!

It seems that the package I got from the SMAUG site is...well, something less than desirable. Unfortunately,
you'll still need the SMAUG dist,as it contains all the important area and sys files...hopefully this has shed some light on the weird misc. errors i've been hearing about!

Was not the point of this particular version of SMAUG windows compatibility? If you're downloading the source from elsewhere, say the SMAUG site, you're getting the *n*x version of the source, which obviously won't compile/run on windows, hence the need for a windows port of it.
