Hi,

I'm having problems with the auto logging feature. I have it set up to where it logs automatically whenever I connect to a world. I have the default logging directory pointed to "D:\MMLogs\". Whenever I open a world, the log file goes to "C:\Documents and Settings\(Current User)\Start Menu\Programs\MUSHclient" However, if I turn off logging (Shift+Ctrl+J) and start it again, it points it to the "D:\MMLogs\" directory. Am I doing something wrong?

I uninstalled Mushclient to remove all registry entries and reinstalled 3.42, and it still does it.

Now, I installed the super health bar plugin, and guess where the log went? To the folder where the plugin resides. :P

When you say "auto logging" you mean the feature in the logging configuration screen where you can log automatically?

In that case you put a file name there (not in the default logs screen elsewhere) and it will open a file in the place you specify.

The file name can include things like the date and time.

Under global prefrences, I have the default log file directory as "D:\MMLogs\". The filename is "MM-%a-%d-%b-%Y.html". By autologging, I mean when I start Mushclient, and open a world. Its logging at that point. Its also not logging to "D:\MMLogs\". Its loggin to Start -> Programs -> Mushclient -> (Log).

If, under the logging configuration screen (ALT-3), I specify a directory, i.e. "D:\MMLogs\MM-%a-%d-%b-%Y.html", I get an error: "Could not open file "D:\MMLogs\MM-Mon-01-Sept-2003.html".

I tried that exact name and it worked. I suppose you have a directory:

D:\MMLogs

It won't create the directory.

Yeah, the directory exists.

I can't explain that. It worked for me. What operating system are you using? Have you tried manually putting a log file there? eg. just by manually logging?

I'd like to suggest that MUSHclient -do- create the directory, if it doesn't exist, perhaps with permission granted by an optional flag set in general configuration.

I prefer this directory:
%L\%N\%P\%P - %N Log %Y-%m-%d %a.html

...and I would like directory names to be created if they don't exist.

Get my plugins here: http://www.magnumsworld.com/muds/

Constantly proving I don't know what I am doing...
