Loading areas and immortals

I am having problems loading areas and immortals after saving them. After a char is made it saves as a char, but when i advance to immortal, after the immortal logs out and back in, they are the char the saved as, but if i promote to a higher level character, not immortal it still saves. When i make an immortal the file for the immortal appears in the gods folder, the mud juts doesnt seem to load it when the player logs on the next time.

As for the areas, i can assign vnums and when i type savea theres no errors. I have a folder called building where the file appears saved with the vnums and such. But when i reboot and try to loadarea it says no vnums are assigned to you.

Im using winsmaug 1.4a any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Windows seems to have this problem a lot. Search the forums, you'll find quite a few posts, for example this one:
