| Okay, i want to transfer my smaug folder to a cd, then install it to a different computer... All of my cygwin files are included in this 'smaug' folder with all the area/scr/and the others. Now after successfully burning the 'smaug' folder to a cd and after another successful attempt at installing the file to my other computer, cygwin won't run because now it tells me that i can't find the /tmp folder. Can someone help me out with this? | Top |

| I think there is some kind of an issue with registry entries that Cygwin makes for itself on install. I believe I once worked around this by running the installer and not actually installing any packages, or something to that effect. You might give it a shot. It's been a while since I had to move Cygwin from one machine to the other, so I'm sorry I can't give more useful information. Hope that helps at least a little bit though.

| If your aim is to make the MUD distributable without downloading Cygwin, you could always do the Cygwin download once, then save the setup files and burn those to CD, and finally you do setup from local files instead of from the net. |

| Well, installing from local files is still your best bet at getting a clean install of Cygwin. You probably didn't mess with anything outside of /home/, so you can just copy that over onto the new installation. |
