| I have been using SMAUG and editing areas with the AreaEditor 1.34. I really want to dumb down my setup QUITE a bit and wanted to see how hard it really would be. I want new players to only go to a single area, that I create. I want them to not choose race or class or anything, just Male or Female and a name. I have no need to combat setups even, just the ability to interact in the limited area I provide. Is this as hard as it seems to dumb everything down? Thanks for any help.

| It wouldn't be too hard, but it begs the question why use Smaug? |

| Note that you don't actually have to remove things from the code in order to remove interaction with them.
But Zeno is right; you might want to consider using a different codebase. In fact, something like SocketMUD or Nick's Tinymudserver might work much better for you. |

| This sounds quite a bit like PennMUSH (or similar variants) which don't have combat, and basically come out of the box "empty".
I think a while ago I did something that let you export out of the Area Editor into PennMUSH building commands, so your preliminary work wouldn't be wasted. |
