I recently switched all my sounds from the built in (in the Trigger screen) to this format.
PlaySound (0, "sound.wav")

Btw, I'm on a mac, using wine, most recent wine, client, and snapsot..

Sometimes the sounds stop working. Then later, I'll log in again, and they work. Afraid I don't have more info, but I'll update as I get more specifics. Feel free to ignore for now.. until I can better isolate when and what and whatever.

Thanks.

Yes I'm a girl. Yes I play muds. Get over it.

Does this happen with the application (client) in the foreground? There is an option (off by default I think) to play sounds if the client is not active.

See this post for how to change that:

You could also try going to the Wine icon on the menu bar, clicking Configuration, and going to the Audio tab. If sounds aren't working click "Test Sound" to see if this is maybe a Wine issue.

So just to clarify, the exact same files sometimes work and sometimes not? And if they stop working they stay stopped?

You mean log out, or completely close the client? So perhaps if it is a memory or resource issue, closing the client and re-opening it frees those resources?
