In version 3.32, neither control-insert nor control-c copy highlighted text; I have to click on the copy command in the dropdown menu to copy text to the clipboard.

Yes, that is very very annoying, and it takes way too long to get your hand from the keyboard, put it on the mouse, point to the text, right click, copy, and back to the keyboard again... Actually, since the only thing you can do with a locked text box is copy text, it would be nice if it copied the selection automatically and unselected the text when you released the mouse button, mIRC-style.

Go to File -> Global Preferences and uncheck "All typing goes to the command window". With that checked the Ctrl+C switches focus to the command window, and thus the copy doesn't work.

That is a new feature. Go to Configuration -> Output and check "Copy selection to clipboard". Then you can do just that (apart from the unselection).

But will it copy it in plain text, or html? And why isn't that an option too? :)

Try it and see. :)

I'll save you the trouble - plain text.

Because no-one asked for it, and I didn't think of it at the time.

for me, Copy as HTML doesnt work with highlighting.

I just copy as plain text, yet, if I do ctrl-C, it copies as HTML.

was that intentional nick?

Huh? Ctrl+C should always copy as plain text.

What do you mean "with highlighting"?

There are a number of ways you could copy, which one are you using?

Auto-copy on select? With or without HTML option checked?
Ctrl+C?
Ctrl+Alt+C?
Copy from menu?
Copy as HTML from menu?

Ok, In Output dialog menu, Check Copy Selection to clipboard, AND HTML,

Ctrl C copies as Html, the Highlight (Select text, release button) Copy, copies as PlainText, there is no dropdown for as Html, but the right click-copy selects as plain text, and Ctrl Alt C copies as HTML as well

What is happening here is that if you have "copy selection to clipboard" and "HTML" checked then as soon as you make a selection it is copied to the clipboard as HTML, and then the focus goes back to the command window. Thus your subsequent copy using Ctrl+C doesn't do anything, so there is still HTML on the clipboard.

However if you click back inside the selection, and then type Ctrl+C it correctly copies as text.

The next version will have Copy as HTML on the right-mouse click menu.
