I am pleased to release version 3.37 of MUSHclient. This version fixes various bugs, and introduces a comprehensive chat system. See the release notes for more details.

A detailed description of the chat system can be found at The MUSHclient Chat System. Basically it provides client-to-client chat capability, so you can talk to other players without having to go through the MUD server. It should work with the MudMaster and zChat chat systems as well.

WARNING - versions 3.35, 3.36 and 3.37 are a bit experimental because of the large numbers of changes.

You are strongly advised to BACK UP (make a copy of) all your existing world files (and any other files that MUSHclient produces, such as triggers, aliases etc.) before using these versions.

There is comprehensive support in the scripting subsystem for the chat feature. See Chat scripting calls for more details.

This version does not have a GUI interface to the chat system yet. This will be added shortly, meanwhile I would appreciate hearing from users whether the chat system is working properly, both between MUSHclient sessions, and MUSHclient and other clients.
