I downloaded an area that uses vnums 45000-45299.
My game only allows me to go up to 25000 vnums (there or about)

Is there a simple method of renumbering areas using the area editor?

If so, will these renumbered areas cascade through the area to include room exits, objects, and mobs?

How can I increase my win98 version of SMAUG (no compiler files) to include higher VNUMS?

The Area Editor has a renumber feature. It *should* cover all references, including exits, mobprogs etc. however I would make sure I had a backup of the area, just in case.

To make SMAUG handle higher vnums it needs to be recompiled. There were some posts about that recently here.
