For a while now there have been problems in MUSHclient with copying text from the output window. In particular if you have the Global preference "all typing goes to the command window" checked, whenever you press Ctrl+C to copy something, it switches the focus to the command window, and then copies whatever is selected there, rather than what you just selected in the output window.

Since this is *so* annoying, version 4.42 has been changed, so that copying works more naturally.

It works like this:

  • When you select text in the command window, any selected text in the output window is automatically deselected.

  • When you select text in the output window, any selected text in the command window is automatically deselected.

This is like treating the whole world window as a single block of text, and normally you only have one selection.

Then, when you hit Ctrl+C (or Edit -> Copy) it copies whatever selection there is (in either window), if any.

So basically, if you glance at the whole world window as a unit (output part and command part) and you see something selected, then Ctrl+C will copy that. I think this is much easier to use than having to install plugins, or right-click to bring up a menu.

Question: will there still be an option to copy selected text automatically? I really like that.
