This doesn't really have to do with smaug, but I'm looking for a Dragon Ball Z codebase to run... Haven't found any in my searches, so I thought I would try here. Because everyone here is soooo brilliant! ;p

Thanks!

P.S. This would be running on Windows(2000).

Dang... Any people still alive out there? Any answers?

Okay, how about...

"Is there a good codebase I could use for a Dragon Ball Z mud?"

Pre-Thanks!

Ive not yet seen a codebase actually designed for a DBZ style mud. If you dont mind doing a LOT of coding, Id say probably DoT or ROM is your best bet to modify. I'd actually have to advise against a SMAUG codebase for this due to the heavy alterations already in place on the SMAUG codebase. Actually, the ACK! codebase might work well too but I think it would need heavier mods that DoT or ROM.

well thats kinda a problem... I dun really wanna code and compile... I'm running on a small machine for the time being, and I really just don't have the space to do that.

Just how easy would it be to redo ROM, maybe just in game, with out 're-coding' it?

Circlemud source should be readily available for download though you will need to do heavy recoding to orient it for a DBZ feel because the stock format is extremely fantasy oriented. As for redoing rom or any other codebase 'in game' without having to recode, you could do the areas in DBZ style easily enough but youd have the standard races/classes/skills/spells of whatever codebase unless you actually recoded them. As for not having a small computer, thats not a real issue unless you go totally overboard with your areas. The actual source for most codebases is under 5mb total size and there are compilers available at well under 1gb total size. Id recommend something unix based for your host machine due to all the nice builtin utilities, ie gdb and the various compilers that arent included as part of the microsuck op systems.

Yo. The DBZ Arena 2 codebase is out, and public domain.

http://www.kyndig.com/codes/reviews/1657.html

It's rather buggy though. It definately doesn't work
under Cygwin.. and has some bugs required to fix before it'll run in Linux. Since it was compiled under Unix,
your best bet is running it on that..

Have fun!
