Okay, maybe it's just because I'm a newbie to building but I have a question....two actually. The first, and most important to me is...
I have a MOB that I have set up to sit by a fountain in an area I'm designing for Smaug 1.4 I want players to be able to ask or talk to this MOB and have the MOB respond with a predefined scripted response (this is to further the storyline of the area). Any ideas on how to do this? Can it be done with Area Editor?
Secondly...I made a "shop" but the MOB that I attached as the shopkeeper keeps moving. I'd like her to stay in one place...but she moves, any ideas? I have the nomobile flag set, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Thanks very much for your help, in advance. | top |

| Your first idea is easy enough with a speech_prog and should be doable via the area editor from what little I remember of it. As for your shopkeeper, look for a sentinel mflag, should fix the wandering problem right up. |

Right...but how do I set a speech_prog or act_prog up in Area Editor? That I don't know how to do either. Any links to a good speech_prog FAQ would be helpful too.
Thanks for the info on the shopkeeper now she stands there nicely. :) | top |

There are example speech programs in newacad.are.
To add a program to a mob, click on the relevant mob, and then go to the Area menu -> Add mob program (Ctrl+A).
This will add a new program. Then adjust the program type in the section on the right, and type the program into the big box. |
