This drives myself, as well as my friends bonkers :)

If you alt-tab away, then back to mushclient, none of the f-keys send their macros until you send some text to the mud normally. Also, if you accidentally hit F6, none of the other Fkeys send macros until you send some text normally as well. It would be great if this could be fixed. Would also be nice if we could actually assign a macro to F6 (by itself), and even having the option to use F1 as a macro rather then as a help hotkey would be _great_.

This is a "focus" problem. :)

There are two windows visible for each world, the "output" window (at the top) and the "command" window (at the bottom).

The macro keys only work if the focus is on the command window, that is, if you can see a flashing cursor. However normal typing has a side-effect of switching the focus to the command window.

A bit of testing shows that Alt-Tab away and then Alt-Tab back doesn't cause the problem, however if you *click* back onto the upper window, then you will have this problem.

You can do a few things to work around this problem right now ...

  • When switching back to MUSHclient, click on the lower window (the command window)
  • Use Alt-Tab to switch back, not click with the mouse
  • If you find the the macro keys don't work, move the focus by pressing the Tab key, or the Esc key. Warning - pressing Esc if the focus is already on the command window may delete what you have currently typed in, depending on your configuration options.

You could probably call that a bug, so I have added it as bug #410.

Nod, its really only annoying when you're messing with winamp, notice you're about to die, and try slamming your "save my life" macro, which doesnt work :)
