Here's the makefile...

CC = gcc
PROF = -O -ggdb
NOCRYPT = -DNOCRYPT -DOLD_RAND
C_FLAGS = -Wall $(PROF) $(NOCRYPT)
L_FLAGS = $(PROF)
LIBS = -lcrypt

SRC_FILES := $(wildcard *.c)
O_FILES := $(patsubst %.c, %.o, $(SRC_FILES))

rom: $(O_FILES)
rm -f rom
$(CC) $(L_FLAGS) -o rom $(O_FILES)

.c.o: merc.h
$(CC) -c $(C_FLAGS) $<

clean:
rm -f $(O_FILES) rom



Here's the error...

$ make

i went back through your suggestions for the older version, but the crypt error obviously didnt solve it... any suggestion

Try forcing a recompile of all files, ie. type:


rm *.o
make

I had the same problem. If you put -lcrypt at the end of O_FILES section you should fix the problem.
