Hi, I've started to MUD for almost a year now, but with the corporate firewalls I can only play at home. My question is, will there be a MUSH Client version for mobile phones with internet access, like Nokia, iPhone or SonyEricsson??? And congrats con the client, is the best I've ever used =)

Unless these devices run or emulate Windows, I doubt there will be a version of MUSHclient that will support them.

However it is an interesting idea, to play MUDs on your phone on your way to work. It is probably easier to implement than an MMORPG on such a small device.

If you own a phone that runs the Windows Mobile operating system, you can try downloading PocketMUD (http://pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1073). It's ugly and buggy sometimes, but it's something to start with.

I usually just use the telnet client built into PocketPuTTY (http://www.pocketputty.net) if I want to connect to a MUD from my phone (an HTC 8925).

You guys must be insane wanting to play muds on a phone, LOL, if you have internet phone, why not take the next step and connect it to a notebook, you can play then in some comfort on the train or bus to work with a full blown client and the same configuration that you use on your desktop.

Just a guy having a bit of fun. Nothing more, nothing less, I do not need I WIN to feel validated.

Use an eee-PC from Asus. It's a computer that fits in your pocket. If you have oversized pockets, that is.

It is much easier to fight for one's ideals than to live up to them.

There are MU* clients for phones, no matter what OS they run. However, your best bet for a full-featured MUSHclient might be to do what I do.

I use remote access programs on my computer like VNC, which allow me to connect to my PC from my phone and run it. I am doing stuff on my computer, but using my phone to do it over the internet.

Good point, Drraagh. I've played with it a bit. It's not good if you're actually trying to talk to people on the MU, but if you're running plugins/scripts at home and you want to check in on them or restart them if they've stopped, VNC is a great alternative. If you have a MIDP-enabled phone (you can run Java Midlets), I recommend VNC2Go (free!) for the software on your phone (link: http://www.freeutils.net/vnc2go) and TightVNC for your PC (link: http://www.tightvnc.com). TightVNC is cross-platform and free, which is why I like it (especially the free part).
