Many MUDs disconnect you if you spend too much time doing nothing. The problem comes when you're disconnected by the router, not the MUD server. I remember having my Achaea timeout set to an hour, but I kept getting disconnected after half an hour. Furthermore, MUSHclient wasn't even aware of the disconnect until I tried to do something. Keepalives fix that issue.

Well if the MUD disconnects you after 20 minutes, and you aren't allowed to send the occasional message to keep you logged in, then things are pretty-much working as expected, right?

You aren't saying, are you, that the MUD disconnects you, even if you are sitting there typing in stuff?

Yeah i have think the muds disconnect me, the wizzards from the mud tells me, its no the mud, its youre client.

ok i post my problem here and you say my problem is the router :)

and yeah, in my mud we haves any list and stats to train with the logintime. now i start a timer or so... so i cheat.

:) i hope you understand me, but i think with the option its all fine now. no discons at 12 hours.

Well if they don't do it, it isn't necessarily the client, as we said before. Maybe their router, maybe your router, are set up to drop a connection if nothing happens on it for 20 minutes.
