Patching Windows based Rom

I downloaded Lope's Color code 2.0, and it comes as a patch. It looks to me that the command to patch is unix based, so I was wondering how I do it in Windows.

I'm also really new to this.

Well, I downloaded QuickMud (rom 2.4b6 w/olc & lope color), so I don't technically need to know about patching anymore (unless it'll come up later with other code snippets)

If you install Cygwin you get a program called "patch" that will apply patches. However then you need to know how to compile it.
