Last night i spent a long time building a cool little world in Pennmush with the help of that tutorial thing. When i went, to bed, i closed PennMush, and shut down my computer. The next day all my characters were gone... and the world... what am i doing wrong?
PennMUSH not "saving"

You need to use the "@dump" command to save the database to disk.
If you did that, and still lost stuff, maybe you have an incorrect database option in the mush.cnf file (eg. a compression program that you do not have).
Try again with a small change, type @dump, type @shutdown, reboot and check the change has been made.
It is supposed to auto-dump every hour or so, the interval is set in the mush.cnf file.
