Newbie...

Hi there i am planing to run a mud. And after playing and learning a bit i have decided to go with a rom server.

I am thinking on using cygwin to compile, and run the server under win xp, but i am not sure if it is better on win xp directly or under cygwin.

Does anyone knows where to get the latest version of rom with olc and color?? and that can be compiled with cygwin and run under win xp??

I have read and search in the forum and only found one this interesting but it seems to havent been ported to win.

should compile OK under Cygwin. That should work under XP.

I'm not sure about the OLC and colour snippets however I think there are links for them from Russ Taylor's site (above).

If you have trouble compiling check out this forum, there are quite a few posts about doing it here.

What might be simpler is to use SMAUG, which is similar and has the colour and OLC stuff in it already.

Alternatively, Dawn Of Time, which has all that and more. :)
