Yes, we haven't wanted to tell you, but there's a secret forum in which everybody can post except you. :-)

Could recent posts be in fact recently started threads, and not posts? (haven't checked, just throwing something out there)

EDIT: apparently not, I replied to you and I went to the top of the recent posts list, and you were right below me because you were the most recent poster after me. *shrug*

I think it may be "PMing" (emailing other users via the board) that bumped him up. I'm not sure though.

In the process of building up the main page it does multiple accesses to the database. It is possible that a post arrives that shows up in one list but not the other, however if you can reproduce this consistently there may be a minor bug in the way it is looking at the dates.
